Starting my blog

This blog will be used to keep track of my phd work. It is intended to be used like the lidar blog was for keeping track of all my work while I progress in my phd.

Today:

  • I went to see the dish operate for the first time and saw the control program that Greg put together to control it.
  • I got a spare key from Helen for the current office until I can find that other key that is somewhere in the box that I last sent back from Antarctica.
  • Helen said to come back on Monday to pester her about getting this office back.
  • I spoke to Jonathon Peters regarding my top-up scholarship. He said he would write to Peter Christen about getting at 4/6/8 top-up.
  • John Pye is going to give me my computer back as soon as possible.
  • I am now enrolled and have sent an email to research scholarships requesting confirmation that my scholarship is now active.
  • Signed up to CSP Today and ProtermoSolar email lists to keep up to date with CSP advances.

Tasks:

  • Read sections from Sawat's and Tui's theses about CFD stuff.
  • Research convection studies to find analysis of receiver-like shapes.
  • Summarise SolarPACES publications of interest.
